Young Care Heroes is a Berlin-based everyday support service connecting care-dependent people with trained young helpers, including students, apprentices and school pupils. The service is scheduled to launch in Berlin on January 1, 2027, and is currently accepting non-binding expressions of interest. Support is available from care level 1 and is designed to ease daily routines for individuals and their family caregivers.

Heroes can help with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry and simple meal preparation; shopping and errands; and walking accompaniment to appointments, shops or public offices. They also offer help with post, forms, phones and tablets. Private-pay options include companionship, walks, light gardening and outings. Helpers are interviewed, provide a police clearance certificate and receive training before their first visit. Customers are offered a regular contact person and flexible appointments.

Eligible support may be funded through the care insurer’s monthly relief allowance, stated as €131, with direct billing available on request. Additional private services or hours can be paid for privately.
