Youth Alive Uganda (YAU) is a brand that is committed to empowering young people and communities to live life to the fullest. Started by a group of youth in Kamwokya, a suburb of Kampala, YAU aims to address social and health issues, especially HIV/AIDS, that affect the youth. Their belief is that both the youth and the communities they belong to have the inherent capacity to bring about positive change in attitudes and behavior. However, this power is often unrecognized or underutilized. YAU strives to support and empower young people to initiate and sustain behavior that promotes a healthy state of mind, body, spirit, and environment.

Through their programs and services, YAU focuses on several strategic priorities such as dignified and gainful employment, increasing access to local government services, becoming a recognized center of excellence, improving sexual and reproductive health of children and youth, and providing skills development and mentorship opportunities.

To achieve their mission, YAU produces various publications and newsletters, including their annual reports and safeguarding policies, keeping their stakeholders informed about their activities and progress.
