Youth Hockey Guide is an informational resource for parents and families who are new to skating and youth hockey. It helps readers understand how children can progress from learning to skate to playing on organized teams, drawing on the USA Hockey American Development Model as its guiding framework. The site emphasizes a child’s interest and willingness to learn as important starting points, while addressing common questions about age, instruction, and getting involved.

Its guides cover learn-to-skate programs, introductory hockey, house leagues, travel hockey, and AAA hockey, including team listings and rankings for youth divisions in the United States and Ontario. The site also introduces junior hockey pathways and leagues, such as the Canadian Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Western Hockey League, United States Hockey League, and North American Hockey League.

For families preparing to play, Youth Hockey Guide offers equipment resources, including used-skate and helmet information, hockey goals, and sizing guidance for skates, helmets, pads, and pants from several listed brands.
