About Young Reporters for the Environment
Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) is a dynamic global initiative empowering youth to be voices for environmental advocacy through storytelling, photography, and videography. Under the auspices of the Foundation for Environmental Education, the program nurtures students aged 11 to 25 to develop critical skills in communication, initiative, and analytical thinking. Participants can share their insights on pressing climate issues, potentially influencing policymakers and driving local change.
YRE offers various opportunities to engage with environmental topics through competitions, global action days, and community initiatives such as the Litter Less Campaign. By joining a network of young environmental advocates, participants can collaborate, share projects, and find support for their climate action journeys. YRE encourages the creation of innovative solutions and the transformation of concerns into actionable outcomes, fostering a sense of accountability and mentorship within local communities. This initiative equips youth with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the environmental sector, making the world a better place for future generations.
