The Young Sportsmen’s Soccer League (YSSL) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1968 and based in Illinois. Affiliated with the Illinois Youth Soccer Association and its affiliates, the YSSL offers a range of programs and services to promote soccer development for kids and young adults aged 8 to 19. With over 1200 teams from 185 Clubs, the league provides an organized, competitive soccer program catering to all skill levels.

The YSSL offers competitive travel soccer for boys' teams from U9 to U19, while girls' teams are directed to participate in the IWSL. Teams are assigned to divisions based on age and competitive compatibility, and at the end of each season, division standings are evaluated for team reassignments. Outdoor games are scheduled in the fall (September to November) and spring (April to June), with eight games per season split between home and away teams.

To ensure fair play, the YSSL assigns league referees from seven geographic districts, and referee evaluations are conducted to assess and improve their performance.

By requiring licensed coaches with a minimum of a State "E" license and promoting referee certification, the YSSL is dedicated to improving the quality of youth soccer games. Membership in the league is extended to clubs that exhibit a commitment to YSSL policies and procedures.
