About Yogoda Satsanga Society of India
Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSSI) is dedicated to spreading the universal teachings of Kriya Yoga, a sacred spiritual science originating in ancient India. Founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1917, YSSI aims to provide individuals in India and neighboring countries with a complete philosophy and way of life for achieving overall success and well-being. These nonsectarian teachings encompass methods of meditation that lead to the ultimate goal of union between the soul and Spirit (God).
YSSI also works towards fostering understanding and goodwill among diverse communities and religions. Outside of India, Paramahansa Yogananda's teachings are disseminated worldwide by Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), the organization he established in the West. YSSI makes these teachings available through the comprehensive Yogoda Satsanga Lessons, as well as through its four ashrams, nine retreats, and over 200 kendras and mandalis throughout India and Nepal.
YSSI also publishes writings by Paramahansa Yogananda and his disciples, operates an online meditation center, maintains a website and YouTube channel, and publishes a magazine dedicated to the healing of the body, mind, and soul. The spiritual head and president of YSSI is Sri Sri Swami Chidananda Giri, who guides the organization in fulfilling Paramahansa Yogananda's vision and work
