横尾忠則現代美術館は、兵庫県西脇市出身の美術家、横尾忠則からの寄贈・寄託作品を適切な環境で保管し、多くの人に鑑賞していただくため、兵庫県立美術館王子分館（旧兵庫県立近代美術館、村野藤吾設計）の西館をリニューアルし、2012年11月に開館いたしました。

About 横尾忠則現代美術館
The Yokoo Tadanori Museum of Contemporary Art, inaugurated in November 2012, is dedicated to the works of renowned artist Tadanori Yokoo from Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture. The museum is housed in the renovated West Pavilion of the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Arts, originally designed by architect Togo Murano. This cultural hub showcases a wide range of exhibitions centered around Yokoo's collection, featuring thematic exhibitions that highlight the international appeal and significance of his art.
In addition to traditional display and preservation functions, the museum features an Archives Room for in-depth research and preservation of related materials, reflective of post-war cultural history. The newly established Yokoo Tadanori Collection Gallery presents diverse artworks from various artists, as well as archive materials.
Offering a variety of public events, from lectures and workshops to concerts, the museum aims to engage visitors of all ages, making art accessible and enjoyable for everyone. With a spacious layout of 2,970.81 square meters, it enhances the cultural landscape of the region while highlighting Yokoo's inspiring legacy.
