Shinmei Onsen Yumoto Sugishima is a secluded hot spring inn in Itadori, Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, set amid the natural scenery of Okumino. The small retreat has 13 rooms in a traditional farmhouse relocated from the Edo period, combining nostalgic character with modern comforts. Guests can choose from several Japanese-style room options, including rooms with hearths and private open-air baths, as well as maisonette rooms with open-air baths.

The inn’s naturally sourced hot spring is served free-flowing from its own spring. Guests can enjoy the water in eight baths, including reservable outdoor baths, while taking in the changing seasonal surroundings. Dining celebrates the region’s ingredients and traditions: meals feature fresh river fish raised by the inn, local vegetables, mountain herbs, seasonal mushrooms, wild boar hot pot, and handmade soba, often served beside an irori hearth.
