Yusha no Kuzu is the official anime brand for a darkly comic, action-driven story set in mid-21st-century Tokyo. In this world, organized crime is ruled by mafia members transformed into “Demon Lords” through ether-enhancement surgery. Licensed bounty hunters known as “Heroes” use the E3 drug to strengthen their own ether abilities, making lethal combat part of their profession. The story follows Yashiro, a freelance Hero nicknamed the Grim Reaper, whose troubled routine is disrupted when Aki Jogamine, a high-school student and aspiring Hero, declares herself his apprentice. Their unlikely partnership draws them into a series of dangerous incidents.

The anime brings the manga by Nakashima 723, based on the original work by Rocket Shokai, to the screen. Produced by OLM and directed by Shinji Ushiro, the series combines supernatural battles, underground intrigue, character comedy, and hard-edged drama.
