YVSICT

The Yampa Valley Stream Improvement Charitable Trust (YVSICT) is a charitable organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing waterways in the Yampa Valley and neighboring drainages in northwest Colorado. Since 1985, it has worked to improve water quality, trout habitat, and riparian areas while educating the public and raising awareness of environmental water issues. The Trust collaborates with local, state, and federal governments, nonprofit organizations, and other local entities to carry out stewardship initiatives.

Its work includes river enhancement projects at locations such as Hard Rock, Butcherknife Creek, Pleasant Valley, and Chuck Lewis State Wildlife Area. The organization also supports Routt County students through college scholarships and invites community members to contribute, stay informed, or contact the Trust about getting involved.

YVSICT hosts GolfTrout, a fundraising event in Steamboat Springs featuring a four-person team tournament, guided fly fishing, and golf on a championship course, along with meals, prizes, and awards. Through restoration projects, education, community participation, and fundraising, the Trust supports the long-term care of local waterways.
