About YWCA
The Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), established in 1920 by a group of dedicated Christian women, champions the welfare and rights of women in alignment with the World Young Women’s Christian Association's principles. The Association's mission is to enhance spiritual, mental, physical, and social well-being by fostering Christian character and a spirit of fellowship and service among women.
Over the decades, YWCA has been at the forefront of advocating for women's rights, including eliminating illiteracy, promoting equal pay, and fostering monogamous relationships. Today, it operates as a diversified social service organization with more than 100 units across Hong Kong, catering to a wide demographic, including toddlers, children, youth, women, adults, the elderly, and families. With an impressive annual service attendance exceeding 3 million, YWCA continues to provide essential women-oriented services tailored to the evolving needs of society, exemplifying its commitment to the enhancement of life through community engagement and support.
