The Zentrum für Chemie (ZFC) is a nonprofit association that has supported science, technology, engineering and mathematics education in Germany since 2004. Working with schools, universities, companies, associations, foundations and ministries, it helps bring socially relevant challenges into classroom learning and connect them with core curriculum topics. Its projects cover subjects including chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology and computer science, with themes such as climate protection, the energy transition, resource efficiency, medicine development and artificial intelligence.
ZFC offers hands-on projects and laboratory experiences for students aged 8 to 19, designed to build scientific understanding, deepen classroom knowledge and challenge talented learners. It also coordinates the Bergstraße regional Jugend forscht competition with partners. For teachers, the association provides workshops, training and teaching materials to help integrate emerging technologies and real-world issues into regular lessons while highlighting related career options. Its digital education services include explanatory videos, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels to support more individualized learning.
