Zaina Foundation is a private and non-profit organization founded in 2017 with the aim of promoting digital rights in Tanzania. As a voluntary and autonomous entity, they are committed to continuously aiding women who are journalists, human rights defenders, technologists, lawyers, activists, women with disabilities, and students. Their mission is to permanently improve the way these women protect and access their information online.

With the objective of promoting digital rights and inclusion in Tanzania, Zaina Foundation focuses on advocating for affordability and accessibility of the internet, as well as providing digital security awareness to women in the country. They also work to localize digital tools and content into Swahili language, thereby empowering women with 21st-century skills. Through various projects and activities, Zaina Foundation actively contributes to the advancement of digital rights.

These initiatives include digital safety training for women journalists, monitoring internet shutdowns, policy reform, localization and translation of open-source tools, and the establishment of a Digital Rights Coalition.
