About ZEBRA Interkulturelles Beratungs- und Therapiezentrum
ZEBRA is an intercultural counseling and therapy center based in Graz, Austria. They provide a wide range of services aimed at supporting and empowering unaccompanied minor refugees. Through their workshops, ZEBRA helps young refugees enhance their personal development, self-perception, and knowledge.
These workshops enable them to create a podcast, which is widely spread across Austria, offering insights into the real-life experiences of young, unaccompanied refugees. These workshops provide an opportunity for the youth to actively participate, express their creativity, and share their own experiences. The project aims to address the challenges faced by unaccompanied minor refugees who have fled their homes due to war and persecution.
ZEBRA's goals include helping the youth develop a positive self-perception, gain knowledge about their legal situation, learn about discrimination, democracy, and human rights, engage in meaningful conversations with workshop leaders, and discover more about Austrian everyday culture. The workshops are conducted in collaboration with the respective accommodation facilities. In addition to their workshops, ZEBRA also offers a variety of other services, including intercultural psychotherapy, family counseling, support for parents, integration assistance for job seekers, seminars, and quality development.
Their expertise in migration and diversity is based on years of practical and theoretical work. ZEBRA also works with Graz-based companies and their employees who have experience as refugees, assisting them in overcoming challenges in the workplace. ZEBRA's commitment to promoting social diversity and facilitating the social integration of refugees extends beyond workshops and counseling.
They also facilitate connections between engaged individuals and unaccompanied refugee minors through a mentoring program called Connecting People. Furthermore, they initiate projects like Altern in Vielfalt that aim to promote the social participation of elderly individuals in the Knittelfeld region and the municipality of Wagna.
