Zecscriptions is an open protocol and toolkit for creating, minting, and trading ZRC-20 tokens and other inscriptions directly on the Zcash blockchain. Its launchpad and marketplace let users deploy a token, set its supply and mint limit, participate in active mints, and browse token listings. Inscriptions can contain data such as JSON, images, or token definitions, written permanently into Zcash transactions.

The protocol operates on Zcash mainnet, without a sidechain, layer-two network, bridge, or wrapped assets. Its permissionless, open-source standard is designed so inscriptions and token balances can be verified and reconstructed from Zcash blocks. Users make inscription transactions from a self-custodial wallet generated in their browser; private keys are created locally and can be password-encrypted, with a recovery phrase available for backup. ZRC-20 transfers are also made through inscriptions and should be managed through Zecscriptions to avoid wallet software spending relevant UTXOs. The service currently uses transparent Zcash addresses, and deployment typically costs about one transaction fee, around 0.0001 ZEC, with no protocol deployment fee.
