About Zeiro
Cruzeiro Esporte Clube has a rich history that dates back to its inception in 1921 as Palestra Itália. Founded by Italian sports enthusiasts, the team initially sported green, red, and white colors akin to the Italian flag. Over the years, the club evolved and changed its name to Cruzeiro Esporte Clube in 1942 due to wartime regulations.
The club thrived in the 1940s, securing multiple state championships and building its legacy. The 1960s marked the beginning of a new era with the inauguration of the Mineirão stadium, propelling Cruzeiro into national competitions. The club's crowning achievement came in 1966 when they clinched their first national title.
In 1976, Cruzeiro made history by winning its first Copa Libertadores title, securing its place among South America's elite football clubs. With a storied past of triumphs and resilience, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube stands as a beacon of football excellence in Minas Gerais
