Zendokai Karate Halmstad is a nonprofit sports club dedicated to teaching and promoting Shotokan karate in Halmstad, Sweden. Founded in 1965, it is described as Sweden’s oldest Shotokan club and has around 200 members. The club trains at its own dojo on Österängsgatan 50 and is affiliated with JKA Sweden.
Zendokai offers a range of training options for different ages and experience levels. Programs include playful karate for children and young people aged 8–16, classes for younger children, and beginner and continuing groups for adults aged 16 and over. A morning group welcomes participants of all ages and levels, while a competition group provides advanced training for those with higher ambitions. The club also offers adapted parakarate for people with disabilities.
With numerous training sessions and an established competition program led by instructors with national Shotokan team experience, Zendokai supports both newcomers and experienced practitioners. It also organizes the Zendokai International Camp, bringing participants and instructors together for training, skill development, and international exchange.
