Zakat Foundation Institute

The Zakat Foundation Institute (ZFI) is a pioneering educational establishment dedicated to transforming the social goods sector through empowering leaders in the Muslim charitable domain. Founded in 2020 by the Zakat Foundation of America, ZFI offers accredited graduate programs specializing in humanitarian and development studies. In partnership with the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, the institute provides unique training experiences designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills essential for effective charitable work.

ZFI’s programs include graduate certificates and fellowships, aimed at fostering innovative solutions to humanitarian challenges. The fully funded MS in Philanthropic Studies program further enhances opportunities for dedicated individuals within the sector. Additionally, ZFI employs a flexible learning model featuring primarily online coursework, supplemented by limited in-person seminars and internships. With a mission to cultivate a diverse, socially responsive alumni network, ZFI is committed to driving impactful change and equipping its graduates to navigate the complexities of global philanthropy and humanitarian efforts.
