Zikhona is a free local discovery platform that helps people find nearby businesses often missing from Google Maps. It focuses on the traders communities already know and recommend, including spaza shops, home bakers, hairdressers, mechanics, tailors, caterers, traditional healers and other independent businesses. People can search for businesses near them or add a listing in under a minute, without creating an account.

Zikhona’s listings are built and maintained with community participation. A customer can add a business pin, neighbours can confirm that it is genuine and still open, and the owner can claim the listing for free and add a phone number. This approach helps keep information current and makes incorrect details easier to fix. The platform is designed for fast searching, including on a weak signal, and offers one-tap options to contact a business through WhatsApp or a phone call, or to get directions. Zikhona aims to make locally known businesses easier to find and support, with trust shaped by ongoing neighbour checks.
