ZimCarving is a Vancouver, British Columbia, business bringing authentic Zimbabwean stone sculpture to collectors, gardens and public spaces across Canada. Established in Vancouver in 2015, it represents more than 50 sculptors, primarily from Zimbabwe, and is led by founder and sculptor Patrick Sephani. Each piece is individually selected for its form, finish and distinctive stone character, with works by celebrated masters and emerging artists.
The collection features unique, hand-carved sculptures made in Zimbabwe from stones including springstone, serpentine, opal stone, verdite and leopard rock. Customers can browse and purchase sculptures online, arrange a private viewing of the Vancouver collection by appointment, or commission a sculpture.
ZimCarving also offers five-day Shona stone-carving workshops in Vancouver for beginners and more experienced participants, with tools provided. Its care services include cleaning, waxing, polishing and repairing sculptures, as well as moving, providing bases and installing pieces. Through its collection, learning opportunities and practical support, ZimCarving helps people discover and care for Zimbabwean stone sculpture.
