Otužovanie a zimné plávanie? Nejedná sa len o módny trend posledných rokov. Ide najmä o zdravie, uvoľnenie napätia a stresu a následný dobrý pocit… Avšak netreba hneď bezhlavo skákať do prvého jazera. Skúsený „ľadový medveď“ Vám poradí, aby ste si čo to vopred prečítali, naštudovali alebo sa na základné informácie popýtali niekoho, kto sa tejto aktivite už nejaký čas venuje. Napokon, je to v záujme Vášho zdravia a bezpečnosti!

Slovenské ľadové medvede is a Bratislava-based civic association dedicated to winter swimming and cold-water acclimatization. Its official website introduces the group, shares practical information for newcomers, and highlights the health, relaxation, and wellbeing benefits that members associate with these activities. The association also stresses the importance of learning about cold-water swimming and prioritizing health and safety before getting started.
During the season, members meet for group training once or twice a week at two Bratislava locations: the Dunajklub boathouse on the Danube and the Šutrovka buffet by Draždiak. People interested in winter swimming or membership are welcome to join these gatherings and meet the swimmers. The organization also arranges events throughout the season, including holiday swims, river and lake swims, and season-opening and closing activities. Participation in official events is generally limited to registered participants, while spectators and supporters are welcome.
More experienced members take part in international events and competitions, including activities connected with the Czech winter swimming cup and the International Winter Swimming Organisation.
