ZIMT (Zentrum für interdisziplinäre modulare Trainingsprogramme) is a specialist training and support centre headquartered in Bad Segeberg, Schleswig-Holstein. It provides programmes for children and adolescents living with obesity, working closely with their families to help them develop healthier habits and manage their weight over the long term. The year-long programme is offered at multiple locations across the region and brings together professionals including psychologists, sports trainers and nutrition advisers.
ZIMT coordinates therapeutic support and helps families connect with relevant healthcare professionals, while encouraging participants to build on their strengths and develop practical ways to address challenges. The programme has been continually developed since 2004, and ZIMT was established in 2013 through the alignment of earlier training initiatives. The centre cooperates with the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein’s children’s clinic in Lübeck and has a free telephone helpline for enquiries.
In February 2024, all ZIMT locations received certification from the German Working Group on Obesity in Children and Adolescents, recognizing the quality of its work
