ZIP ops

Západočeský institut pro ochranu a dokumentaci památek, known as ZIP o. p. s., is a nonprofit public-benefit organization focused on researching, documenting, and protecting historical heritage.

Drawing on many years of professional experience, the institute provides comprehensive services for the study of archaeological, architectural, and other historic monuments. Its work includes preliminary, advance, and rescue archaeological research for construction projects of varying sizes. ZIP also collaborates on the restoration and presentation of immovable heritage sites, supporting projects from the pre-design and design stages through implementation.

In partnership with other organizations, it develops initiatives that investigate and make historical heritage more accessible to the public. The institute’s work connects heritage protection with practical opportunities for restoration, presentation, and use, and includes projects exploring the economic and social potential of historic roof structures and the modern accessibility of historical sources.
