ZipMachine

ZipMachine is a design and fabrication workshop based in Langon, Brittany, creating custom mechanisms for events, luxury projects and live performance. From an initial sketch to a working prototype and, when needed, an industrialized part, the workshop provides 3D design, prototyping and production coordination tailored to each project.

Its work includes motorized exhibition displays, interactive tables, theatrical and street-performance scenery, rotating lamp components, counters and custom electronic systems for motors and automation. ZipMachine also offers bespoke metalwork, including stairs, pergolas, signs and metal furniture.

The process covers requirements analysis and 3D modeling in Rhinoceros, in-house prototyping with digital cutting, large-format 3D printing and embedded electronics, followed by the coordination of specialist manufacturing. Projects can also include on-site assembly, installation and adjustment. Workshop capabilities include CNC plasma cutting, CNC milling, welding in steel, aluminum and stainless steel, and microcontroller-based control using platforms such as ESP32 and Arduino. ZipMachine aims to validate mechanisms through testing before production, helping ensure they work as intended in their final setting.
