Zipper is a permissionless, trustless protocol for locking tokens and issuing equivalent, 1:1-backed zipped assets on Polyester Chain. It enables users to zip tokens and redeem them by unzipping, with deposits and withdrawals designed to take seconds. The protocol supports assets across major blockchains and allows transactions to be sent through compatible non-custodial wallets, to onchain addresses, or to centralized exchanges.
Zipper describes its architecture as decentralized and non-custodial, with no KYC requirement. Decentralized validators secure its vaults using trusted execution environments (TEE) and multi-party computation (MPC), while onchain vaults make deposited assets publicly verifiable. Its open-source, audited codebase is intended to support transparency for users and developers.
The planned self-service application is designed for depositing and withdrawing tokens, adding token support, and exploring zipped assets, balances, and transactions. Zipper also offers API-focused integration resources for developers building with its wrapping protocol. The project positions Polyester Chain as the foundation for low-cost, fast, and efficient transactions; its app is marked as coming soon.
