About Zagrebačko knjižničarsko društvo
Zagrebačko knjižničarsko društvo (ZKD) is a regional professional association that brings together library professionals in the city of Zagreb and Zagreb County. As a member of the Croatian Library Association (HKD), ZKD actively participates in the work of HKD's professional bodies. The society contributes to the professional development by monitoring and studying relevant issues, providing suggestions for improving library services, and promoting the establishment and development of all types of libraries.
ZKD is committed to creating and implementing policies in the field of librarianship while advocating for the appropriate social and economic status of library professionals. Additionally, ZKD offers programs such as "ZKD knjižničarske avanTURE," which combines reading encouragement and library promotion in Zagreb and Zagreb County, with the aim of promoting movement for better health.
