ZMailer

ZMailer is a robust internet message transfer agent designed for high-demand environments, particularly suited for gateways and mail servers. Developed initially by Rayan Zachariassen with contributions from Matti Aarnio, ZMailer addresses the limitations found in legacy solutions like Sendmail, providing an efficient multi-protocol mailer primarily supporting RFC822 and its variations.

This innovative software boasts strong security features, deterministic system loading, and a customizable configuration mechanism tailored for diverse operational needs. Its unique architecture employs a dual-daemon setup—one for routing and the other for managing message queues—ensuring rapid processing capabilities that can handle millions of messages daily.

ZMailer shines in its flexibility, offering support for various database interfaces, including DNS and local files, and streamlined handling of mailing lists. Its user-friendly configuration closely mimics shell scripting, allowing for easy customization without extensive programming knowledge. Overall, ZMailer is built to scale efficiently, making it an ideal choice for organizations facing the challenges of modern email communication.
