Zoe's Ghana Kitchen is a brand on a mission to start an African Food Revolution and bring the flavors of African cuisine to the masses. Founded in July 2010 by Zoe Adjonyoh, the brand has spent the last decade making African food more accessible through supper clubs, kitchen residencies, mobile catering, and a successful cookbook, Zoe's Ghana Kitchen. Zoe's Ghana Kitchen has not only inspired African food entrepreneurs, cooks, and chefs worldwide but has also established a new gastronomy - New African Cuisine.
However, Zoe's vision goes beyond just food. As a mixed-race, Black lesbian from a working-class immigrant background, Zoe aims to create change by promoting equal representation of global cuisines and decolonizing the spice trade. With initiatives such as Kissing Cultures™, Zoe is pushing culinary innovation and exploring uncharted gastronomy.
Additionally, she is working to bring awareness to the importance of using high-quality, ethically sourced ingredients and supporting African farmers and Black-owned businesses. As Zoe's Ghana Kitchen continues to grow, they remain committed to their social impact mission. They aim to have at least 50% of their workforce come from marginalized communities, and 10% of their gross profits from the online shop will be donated to causes they care about, such as BLM.
In the future, Zoe's Ghana Kitchen plans to offer a range of heirloom and single-origin spices, grains, pulses, and ancestral ingredients, accompanied by original recipes and suggested applications. With a focus on dismantling, disrupting, and decolonizing the food industry, this brand is dedicated to creating a more equitable and harmonious food system.
