Zomercarnaval Rotterdam is a tropical carnival festival organised by Stichting Zomercarnaval Nederland, a non-profit foundation that gives cultural communities a platform to celebrate diversity through music, dance, food, costumes and shared festivities. The event brings together around 2,000 carnival participants living in the Netherlands and representing approximately 25 tropical carnival traditions. It aims to create connection and joy among performers and visitors, contributing to the Netherlands’ cultural and festive life.

The festival’s programme includes the Royalty Election, where candidates compete for the King and Queen titles; the lively Street Parade, featuring carnival groups and individual participants; and Mercado, a festival market offering food and other attractions. The foundation invites people to take part as performers, market participants, volunteers or supporters. Volunteer roles can suit a range of interests and skills, including photography, welcoming guests and helping visitors. As a community-supported organisation, Stichting Zomercarnaval Nederland also welcomes donations to help keep the event accessible and support its continued development. Zomercarnaval Rotterdam is scheduled for July 4, 24 and 25, 2026.
