ZOO

Kyiv Zoo is a municipal zoological park in Kyiv, Ukraine, founded in 1907. It serves as a nature-conservation, research, and educational institution, as well as a public destination for recreation. Its animal collection includes around 300 species and is shaped by conservation priorities, scientific interests, and educational value. Visitors can see animals such as elephants, giraffes, hippos, lions, tigers, and gorillas.

The zoo works to maintain and develop its collection, support the breeding and conservation of animals—especially rare and threatened species—and conduct research into animal care and reproduction. Its educational activities include guided and themed tours, seasonal events, zoo lessons, and a young naturalists’ club where children learn about animals, biology, and conservation. The zoo also offers animal-assisted activities through its “Kind Stick Insect” project, including programs for service members’ families and others who may benefit from emotional support.

Located at 32 Beresteyskyi Avenue, Kyiv Zoo provides visitor information, accessibility resources, and online ticket sales. Tickets are available for adults and children, with free admission for children under six.
