The Zimbabwe Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (ZSOG) is a national professional association established in 1998 to support the field of obstetrics and gynaecology in Zimbabwe. An affiliate member of ZIMA and FIGO, it welcomes Zimbabwean obstetricians and gynaecologists, other professionals in the field working in Zimbabwe, and Zimbabwean obstetricians based abroad.
ZSOG promotes high standards of practice and works with professionals to develop guidelines and strengthen knowledge through research. Its quarterly continuing medical education meetings and annual scientific meeting give members opportunities to share experience, present research findings, and learn about current best practices. The association also works with national universities to support up-to-date education and skills training.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, ZSOG contributes to programmes aimed at improving women’s health. It represents members on committees of regulatory and professional bodies, including the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe and the Health Profession Council.
