About Zuikookan
Associação Zuikookan is a centre for Oriental arts in Portugal, bringing together martial arts, therapeutic practices and professional training. Its martial arts programme includes Suiō-ryū Iai Kenpō, Daitō-ryū Aikijūjutsu, Hakkō Dentō-ryū and Chen Taijiquan. The association describes its martial arts techniques as focused on effectiveness in combat rather than aesthetics, reflecting a practical approach to traditional disciplines.
Alongside martial arts, Zuikookan offers shiatsu and complementary therapies, including practices based on stimulating the body’s energy meridians. Its therapeutic centre provides a space for these services, while its training programme supports people seeking to broaden and diversify their knowledge. Featured courses include Traditional Chinese Medicine training with DGERT certification, as well as events such as the first Shiatsu Day in Portugal, held in Porto.
