Zum Bunten Hund

Zum Bunten Hund is the handmade ceramics brand of Nadine Merstetter, an independent craftswoman based in Steinen im Wiesental, at the edge of Germany’s southern Black Forest. Working from her small workshop, Nadine creates individual pieces from clay, drawing inspiration from nature and the character of the region. Her work embraces the natural variations of handcraft: each object is distinctive, sometimes rustic or playfully irregular, and made with care rather than mass-produced.

The collection brings together practical and decorative ceramics for the home, garden, and moments of remembrance. Products include bird baths and bird feeders, insect water stations and bee hotels, wind chimes, lanterns and grave lights, planters, bowls, vases, candle holders, and accessories for pets and tortoises. The range also features keepsakes, photo holders, incense holders, and clay pieces bearing words, alongside Black Forest-inspired items and a fairy-tale collection.

Zum Bunten Hund offers its work through an online shop and a small ceramics store, with galleries showcasing the creations.
