Zur letzten Instanz, located in Berlin, is not only the oldest restaurant in the city but also one of its top attractions. With a rich history dating back to 1621, this establishment has been serving up delicious meals for centuries. The restaurant is housed in historic buildings that were constructed in the 13th century, and the first mention of the restaurant dates back to 1561.
The name Zur letzten Instanz comes from a legendary legal dispute between two farmers that found its peaceful resolution here. After being heavily damaged during World War II, the restaurant underwent a meticulous reconstruction and reopened in 1963. Its charming ambience, featuring a baroque spiral staircase, a 200-year-old tile stove, and other period furnishings, offers a glimpse into the past.
The restaurant can accommodate 120 guests in its two dining rooms and also boasts a beer garden with a view of the city wall. Zur letzten Instanz has even welcomed notable guests like Jack Nicholson, Jacques Chirac, and Jake Gyllenhaal. In 2020, the current generation of owners took over the restaurant from their parents.
Whether you're a professional or an amateur, looking for a full-time or part-time job, or identify as female, male, or non-binary, Zur letzten Instanz is open to all applicants for service positions. If your recommendation leads to a successful hire, you'll receive a meal voucher for two people as a token of gratitude. To apply or make a recommendation, please contact post@zurletzteninstanz.
