Infektionsschutz is a public information service of Germany’s Federal Institute for Public Health (BIÖG), providing reliable, evidence-based and current guidance on preventing infectious diseases. Its website helps people understand infections, vaccination and everyday hygiene through accessible information for different audiences, including children, teenagers, adults and pregnant people. Visitors can explore profiles of pathogens such as influenza, measles, tuberculosis and SARS-CoV-2, learn how infections spread, and find explanations of common illness types.

The service also offers vaccine information, practical vaccine checks, answers to frequently asked questions, and guidance on topics such as vaccine safety, immunisation and community protection. Its hygiene resources cover handwashing, food safety, household cleaning and respiratory etiquette. A media library provides educational materials, films and resources in other languages, including Ukrainian, alongside content in sign language and plain language.

Infektionsschutz is designed to support informed decisions and help people protect themselves and others. The site also provides accessibility information, contact details and ordering support for its materials
