Zwartewaterlandloop

Zwartewaterlandloop is a community running event held in the distinctive surroundings of Zwartsluis, with its start and event base at Sluuspoort. The event welcomes runners of different ages and abilities, combining the challenge of a race with the opportunity to enjoy the local setting. Its programme has included a half marathon, a 12.

2-kilometre Zwartewaterlandloop, a six-kilometre race, and a three-person relay in which each runner covers four kilometres. Children can also take part in shorter runs of one or three kilometres. Event information covers registration, race schedules, course details, timing chips, parking, and facilities such as changing rooms and showers.

For the relay, the organisers transport runners to exchange points and provide a shuttle between them. The event is supported by sponsors and shares results and photographs through its website and social media. The 2026 edition, scheduled for 26 June, has been cancelled because of extreme heat and safety risks to participants and volunteers.
