Nordic Welfare Centre

The Nordic Welfare Centre is an institution within the Nordic Council of Ministers, serving as a platform for cooperation among Nordic countries on social affairs and public health. Its work spans six areas: children and young people, public health, disability issues, welfare technology, older adults, and integration. Across these fields, the Centre supports projects, professional networks, events, and other collaborative activities, bringing together knowledge and experience from across the region.

The Centre shares research, reports, reviews, and other publications on welfare policy and practice. Its subject matter includes children’s rights and family services, disability inclusion and deafblindness, digital solutions in welfare services, ageing and age-friendly communities, and public health. It also organises conferences, meetings, and online events for professionals and interested audiences. PopNAD, one of its associated platforms, presents popular science on Nordic social science research into alcohol, drugs, doping, tobacco, and gambling. Through its publications, events, newsletters, and international collaborations, the Nordic Welfare Centre helps facilitate dialogue and knowledge-sharing across the Nordic welfare sector.
