Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

How do I personalize onboarding from a work email?

Take the domain from the email and send it to Brand API. You get the company name, logo, colors, and firmographics to pre-fill the workspace.

Autocomplete brand names to domains with Brand Search API is free and runs from your users' browsers. Debounce keystrokes by 250 to 300ms. The limit is 200 requests per 5 minutes per IP.

Pass cachedOnly=true and an unindexed domain returns 204 No Content immediately rather than triggering a live crawl, which the docs say can take several seconds. Warm anything you know you will need with a HEAD prefetch.

Filter them out. Free email providers such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, and ProtonMail should skip personalization and go to the default onboarding.

Whatever you set as the fallback. A lettermark from the company's first letter, a transparent placeholder, or a plain 404.
